PLUG
VALVES
A lubricated
plug valve is a quarter turn valve that exhibits superior performance
for the most demanding applications.

Throughout the 1990's
and as we enter the 21st century, plug valves have enjoyed a resurgence
in popularity for the following reasons:
1.The metal-to-metal
seating surface area of a plug valve is much greater than a ball valve,
ensuring better drop-tight shut-off.
2. The integrated
lubricating sealing system acts as a back-up sealing system, permitting
restoration of the drop tight shut-off by the injection of additional
lubrication. (Something not available with a ball valve)
3. The geometric
shape of the plug ensures even velocity of media when closing. Unlike
a ball valve, there is no "point contact spot" where the velocities
increase to the extent where wire-drawing becomes a problem.
Neo Valves carries
an extensive line of lubricated plug valves. These valves are all made
in a world class quality factory, by Brdr Christensens, Denmark. The
Christensens PR plug valve is recognized around the world for
its superior quality and reliability on even the most critical and demanding
applications. In addition to the quality and supreme design features,
the manufacturing philosophy of "everything under one roof" means total
design, production quality and scheduling control for all periods of
the production process. Christensens has its own foundry on site, its
own pattern shops, testing labs, and a 200,000 square foot machining
facility.
Quality Inspectors
and Engineers are always impressed when they visit the Christensens
valve facility.
While our plug valve
line is extremely extensive, it can be classified into several types:
Standard
Plug Valves includes the plug valves manufactured in either
steel or cast iron, in ANSI classes of 125, 150, 250 and 300. Valves
available in these pressure classes are available with either a tapered
plug design (Type 9 Series) or with a parallel plug design (Type 1
Series). Our CGA Certified Plug Valves are included in this section.
Steel
Plug Valves, Pressure Balanced Design - These are the Christensens
Type 5 Series valves. These plug valves range from ANSI Pressure class
150 up to ANSI 2500 (API 10000). The valves conform to various API
requirements, including fire-safe.The valves are available in a variety
of materials (eg. low temperature carbon steel, NACE trim, 316 Stainless,
Hastelloys, Duplex etc.) The Type 5 valves are used extensively throughout
the world by Oil & Gas Companies and Gas Transmission Companies.
Double
Block & Bleed Twin Taper Plug Valves - When true double shut-off
is required, on critical services - the patented Double Block &
Bleed Twin Taper plug valve is built with 2 Plugs in 1 body!!! Check
it out!! A "Must-see" for all Oil & Gas Operations and Design Engineers!!!
Multi-Port
Plug Valves - Whether it's a 3-Way Plug valve for a Gas Digester
Flame Arrestor System or a 4-Way Valve for an Industrial Air Dryer,
the PR Multi-Port Valves have the most number of port configuration
options available in the market.
